PATI AZVDO

A LESSON IN FAITH AND PERSEVERANCE

The commander of this ship called Terra de Todos (Land for All) is the journalist, producer, and entrepreneur Patrícia Azvdo, who-with a dream in mind and an adventurous spirit-decided to brave the harsh polar climate of Antarctica to showcase Brazil’s actions on the continent.

Pati Azvdo graduated from the Catholic University of Pernambuco and, since 2001, has led AZVDO PROJECTS, a company specializing in the management of cultural projects. The company has developed partnerships with renowned Brazilian artists, government agencies, and private companies across Brazil’s main regions. Among these endeavors, some were conceived by the producer, while others were developed by professionals and/or institutions in the arts, education, and culture who partner in the main stages of production.

FROM BRAZIL’S NORTHEAST

TO ANTARCTICA

No wonder, therefore, that the dream of Project Antarctica – Land for All originated from the personal curiosity of a woman accustomed to the scorching heat of Brazil’s Northeast: the search involved understanding how people live in places where the sun manifests differently.

Such curiosity turned into persistence, and it is no overstatement to say that it all became possible using perseverance and the certainty that real dreams are priceless since every experience is a synonym for strengthening.

From an invitation to a meeting with Brazil’s Navy to the first pilot voyage to Antarctica in 2018, the road was long, and the resources were scarce. All this effort reinforces the idea that, without challenges, life makes no sense, and only time can answer the questions we ask the stars!
